Facelifted SKODA Superb prices and specs announced

The flagship model is priced from £24,655.

Skoda has announced the full prices and specs for its range-topping Superb, which takes the luxurious model further upmarket.

The Superb has been upgraded with additional safety kit, a revised design and a more premium interior, while Skoda’s first plug-in hybrid – the iV – will join the Superb’s line-up later in the year.

From launch, buyers will have the choice of a large five-door hatchback, or an even more practical estate variant, alongside six trim levels – S, SE, SE Technology, SE L, SportLine Plus and Laurin & Klement.

Prices start from £24,655 for the entry-level ‘S’, which comes well-equipped, with LED front and rear lights and a seven-inch touchscreen with DAB radio and smartphone connectivity. Stepping up to SE (from £26,165) brings 17-inch alloys, dual-zone climate control and front and rear parking sensors.

The SE Technology, costing from £26,620, is a fleet-oriented model that adds leather upholstery, heated front seats and built in Wi-Fi.

Opting for the SE L (from £30,575) brings full matrix LED headlights, an electric driver’s seat, 18-inch alloy wheels and an electric boot, with the SportLine Plus (priced from £34,295) adding a sportier body kit, 19-inch alloy wheels, Alcantara sports seats and a large 9.2-inch touchscreen.

Sitting at the top of the Superb range is the Laurin & Klement – named after Skoda’s founders – which builds on the spec of the SE L with its ventilated, heated, electric and perforated leather seats, Canton sound system, a hands-free electric boot and reversing camera to name but a few features. L & K is priced from £35,240.

Across the range, Estate versions cost roughly £1,300 more than the Hatch.

At launch, the Superb’s engine choice comprises a 118bhp 1.6-litre diesel engine, a 187bhp 2.0-litre diesel engine, a 187bhp 2.0-litre petrol engine and the range-topping 268bhp 2.0-litre petrol unit, which comes with all-wheel-drive. All are paired to DSG automatic transmissions, too.

Later in the year, the range will be expanded with the aforementioned PHEV and a 148bhp version of the 2.0-litre diesel engine – this will likely become the most popular option.

Order books are now open for the facelifted Superb, with first deliveries expected in autumn.
