Ferrari 488 not enough? Meet the 770bhp widebody Novitec N-LARGO

German tuning house Novitec, never one to do things by halves, has unveiled the new Novitec N-LARGO, a ‘roided-up widebody version of the Ferrari 488 that boasts a mammoth 770bhp.

For context, that’s 109bhp more than a standard, unfettled 488 and puts the N-LARGO on par with some of Ferrari’s most insane cars of the moment, like the 769bhp V12-powered F12tdf.

All that extra power comes courtesy of a good old-fashioned tune with ECU revisions, tweaked injection and ignition timing, while the boost pressure from the car’s twin turbochargers has been cranked up.

As a result, the Novitec-tuned 488 can hit 0-62mph in just 2.8 seconds and will go all the way on to 212mph, making it considerably faster than the standard 488 GTB.

That widened body serves a purpose other than the pursuit of extreme aesthetics too, with the widebody kit featuring bespoke cooling vents to feed more air into the brakes and engine.

There are intake gills on the front arches to cool the front brakes, while large vents at the rear suck air into the engine and intercoolers. Aerodynamic efficiency was increased as well, with a front bumper and lip spoiler designed to increase high-speed stability.

Around the rear, the N-LARGO features a rear diffuser and a big wing to generate downforce, while the whole car sits 35mm lower than the regular 488 courtesy of new sports springs.

That’s pretty low indeed, though handily Novitec will install a ‘Front Lift’ button for an extra fee, allowing drivers to raise the front end to avoid any nasty run-ins with speed bumps.

Only 22 examples are being built in all, with 11 GTB coupes and 11 Spider convertibles. How much, you ask? Well, if you have to ask and all that…
