Fiat unveils Star Wars-themed Stormtrooper 500

Star Wars fans eagerly awaiting The Force Awakens rejoice after Fiat unveiled a unique and brilliant Stormtrooper-themed 500e at the LA Auto Show.

With a custom-painted livery inspired by the iconic armour of the First Order Legion Stormtroopers from the new film, the two-tone finish is matched with a special helmet-style windscreen.

Inside, the black and white theme continues, with custom front and rear seats upholstered in leather and Alcantara, plus a white dashboard that features the Star Wars logo embossed on it.

All details are painted in the same monochrome lacquer, while the insignia of the evil First Order sits in the centre of the two-tone, leather-wrapped steering wheel and in the middle of the wheel caps.

Based on the all-electric Fiat 500e, it features the same 83kw electric motor in place of the 500’s usual petrol engines, alongside a battery pack and unique custom buttons in place of a gear lever.

Able to zip up to a top speed of 88mph on its single-speed gearing, it’s quite a way off reaching lightspeed, but Fiat claims that it can travel up to 87 miles on a single charge.

Created by Garage Italia, the same tuner behind the Alfa Romeo 4C La Furiosa, the unique 500e is part of Fiat-Chrysler’s collaboration with Lucasfilm and was on display in Los Angeles last week.

Of course, due to the fact that it’s a one-off created specifically for the show, it’s unlikely that you’ll ever be able to buy one. Whether it’ll be released in a galaxy far, far away has yet to be confirmed.
