Five points why the Citroen C3 Aircross should be your next company car

We take a look at Citroen’s smallest SUV offering and tell you why it should be in consideration for your next company car.

The Citroen C3 Aircross is one of the French brand’s most stylish offerings and was the first model true SUV in the current line-up.

It may not be the most obvious choice as a company car, but the Aircross is actually quite a smart option – providing drivers with plenty of upsides in terms of cost and features.

Here, we go through why you should consider the C3 Aircross as your next business lease…

Good tax rates

Thanks to relatively low emissions from all of its iterations, the C3 Aircross has Benefit in Kind tax rates from as low as 22 per cent – which gets the 1.2-litre PureTech engine in Feel spec. The highest BIK gets with the Aircross in the first year is the highest emitting option, which funnily enough comes with the same engine as the lowest emitting option, but has an automatic transmission instead which hikes CO2 levels up considerably. Rates for all models go up by three per cent in year two, and an additional per cent for the third year.

Comfort guaranteed

With the Advanced Comfort setup, the C3 Aircross comes with some of the highest levels of comfort available on most mainstream cars. Citroen fits all the seating with additional cushioning over previous models, whilst the comfort suspension that comes as standard soaks up the bumps in most road surfaces. Citroen also fitted serious amounts of sound-proofing – making it feel even more refined.

Excellent practicality

As standard, the boot of the Aircross measures 410 litres – a space most would be happy with in any small crossover. But with the variable seating of the rear bench, you can move them forwards to get even more things in the back. If the rear seats are pushed as far forward as they can go, a 520-litre space is at your disposal – and if you don’t even need the rear seats, you can access a 1,289-litre space.

Quality safety features

C3 Aircross models can be fitted with up to 12 driving assistance systems, which combine to give most drivers excellent peace of mind. Although it’s not uncommon for cars to come with the driver aids, it’s still nice to know they’re there and kit such as blind spot detection, lane keep assistance, driver attention detection and emergency brake assist are all available on the C3 Aircross.

Efficient units

What company car drivers will be after is a car that is efficient and nice to drive, and all the units available to the C3 Aircross can be very frugal. The diesel engines on offer can achieve a quoted 69mpg and 71mpg, while also developing lower emissions than the petrol offerings. But petrol versions can still return well over 50mpg, while also being much cheaper to tax and having a lower BIK rate.
