Ford has announced a host of updates to two of its most family-friendly models – the Galaxy and S-Max seven-seat MPVs.
While MPVs have been slowly falling out of favour with new car buyers amid the rise of SUVs, these two people carriers continue to show the versatility of the segment. The S-Max is pitched as the sportier version, with the Galaxy being the larger version. Both models adopt matching changes as part of this latest enhancement.
Styling alterations include more use of chrome around the grille and fog lights, along with special black accents on the ST-Line versions of the S-Max. New 19-inch alloy wheels are also available on both cars.
But on such versatile models, many will appreciate the efforts Ford has gone to in order to enhance comfort. New electric seats can adjust up to 18 ways and aim to provide relief to those who suffer from back pain. They have even been approved by the German Campaign for Healthier Backs.

Electric third row seats are also offered on the Galaxy, while each offers the flexibility to have 32 different seating and boot combinations.
Further connectivity can be provided through the new optional FordPass Connect feature, which allows drivers to check the status of their cars remotely, as well as receiving ‘over-the-air updates’, which allow for live traffic updates, for example.
The updated range features the same 2.0-litre EcoBlue diesel engines that the S-Max and Galaxy received as part of a 2018 refresh – offered with outputs of either 148bhp or 197bhp. Both manual and automatic gearboxes are available.
Ford has also enhanced safety with new pre-collision warning and automatic emergency braking tech, while adaptive cruise control can be specified, too.

The updated versions are available now, with prices starting from £30,490 for the revised S-max and £33,210 for the Galaxy.
