Ford Can Trick Your Baby into Falling Asleep

Babies are great, but what’s not great is staying up to early hours in the morning trying to get them to sleep.

Ford has taken this annoyance on board and created a solution – Max Motor Dreams. Although there are dozens of tricks to getting your child to sleep at night, one prove method is taking them for a quick drive in the car. Problem is, you’ve still got to be awake yourself to do this.

Ford’s new invention, Max Motor Dreams, aims to rid parents of late nights by simulating the calm, rocking nature of a night-time drive in the comfort of your own home.

What is it?

Max Motor Dreams was designed by Alejandro Lopes Bravo and it uses a delicate swaying platform and a series of wrap-around lights to create a cabin-like crib, tricking your baby into thinking it is going for a drive with mum and dad.

The base of the crib acts as the gentle movement of the car on the road and the lights act as artificial street lights, passing by the baby just like the real thing.

The most impressive thing about Max Motor Dreams however is that it uses a smartphone app to record the data of your car journey, then it allows you to replicate this in your high-tech crib with the push of a button.

Where Can I get one?

For the time being, the Max Motor Dreams crib is just a one-off, although Ford says that it may put the crib into production given the right amount of demand.
