Ford Focus ST gets the 271bhp Mountune treatment

Good news for fans of fast Fords as tuning company Mountune has released a new performance package for the Ford Focus ST.

Mountune’s upgrade kit includes a large capacity intercooler, a high-flow dual-entry air filter and specially developed performance-map calibration, which the company says boosts power by 10 per cent.

In total, the output from the Focus ST’s 2.0-litre EcoBoost engine is raised from 247bhp to 271bhp, while the maximum torque rating has been boosted from 345Nm to 400Nm.

The pack costs £1,195, which includes VAT and fitting by a Ford dealer, and also doesn’t affect the car’s standard warranty, unlike various other performance upgrades.

Kevin Griffin, Ford UK sales director, said: “The 2015 Focus ST 275PS upgrade is the latest addition to a wide range of Ford Performance parts and accessories from Ford dealers.

“It enables Focus ST owners to experience even more impressive performance, while offering the reassurance that the upgrade will not affect warranties.”

Meanwhile, the regular Ford Focus ST is available to buy now, priced from £22,495 and with kit that includes 18-inch alloys, Recaro sports seats and Ford’s SYNC infotainment system.
