Ford launches colourful special editions

Following on from the success of models like the Ford Fiesta Red Edition, Ford is launching a number of Colour Editions in 2016 to bolster the appeal of its small car range.

The Ford Fiesta will now be available in ‘Frozen White’ or ‘Panther Black’ body colours, with the roof and wing mirrors finished in the contrasting hue. Unlike the Fiesta Red and Black Edition, which only came with a powerful 138bhp engine, the new Fiesta Colour Editions are available in Zetec trim, with a 1.25-litre Duratec petrol with 81bhp or a more potent 1.0-litre Ecoboost petrol with 99bhp.

Available from £13,645, both versions feature 15-inch alloy wheels painted black, with contrasting white inserts, rear tinted glass and power-folding door mirrors with puddle lights. The interior gets a makeover too, with a contrasting black gear knob, a leather steering wheel with white stitching and white inserts for the interior door handles.

If you’re after something with a little more practicality, the Ford B-MAX will also gain three Zetec-based Colour Editions, all featuring a black contrasting roof and door mirrors. The special editions will also see the introduction of the high-performance 1.0-litre 138bhp Ecoboost petrol engine, only previously seen in the Fiesta Zetec S.

Three body colours are available, with ‘Race Red’, ‘Frozen White’ and ‘Moondust Silver’ all giving a distinct look. This is enhanced with a black front grille and front and rear bumper inserts, body coloured rear spoiler and black 16-inch alloy wheels.

The Colour Edition B-MAX Zetec will be on sale in January from £15,475 and looks set to arrive in dealerships in spring.

For even better performance you can opt for the Ford Focus Zetec S Red and Black Edtions, with either ‘Race Red’ or ‘Panther Black’ bodywork and contrasting roof, black caps and grille surround. Inside the sporty theme continues with a black centre console, leather sports steering wheel, leather handbrake and gear lever gaiter with red stitching, black floor mats with red stitching and sports seats with red stitching.

Both models get black alloy wheels, sports suspension with 10 per cent stiffer suspension and beefier front anti-roll bar for better handling. Under the bonnet, there’s the choice of a 1.5-litre Ecoboost petrol with 180bhp or a 2.0-litre turbocharged diesel with 148bhp. Both are available to order now, starting from £21,995.
