Four-wheel drive MINI Clubman ALL4 unveiled

MINI's Clubman estate-hatch range has now got the option of four-wheel drive for the first time with the introduction of the all-new MINI Clubman ALL4 models.

MINI has unveiled an all-new addition to its practical Clubman estate-hatch range, the new four-wheel drive Clubman ALL4.

The first C-segment MINI to come with four-wheel drive, the ALL4 features an electronically-controlled all-wheel drive system that can send torque between the front and back axles at will.

Offering more grip in adverse conditions, MINI’s engineers say that it still retains the classic MINI sporting characteristics, offering a faster launch off the starting line and sharper agility in tight turns.

Faster launch, sharper agility and more grip

Power comes courtesy of either a 189bhp 2.0-litre turbo petrol engine or a 2.0-litre turbocharged diesel with 187bhp, the most powerful diesel engine ever installed in a MINI.

With a six-speed manual transmission as standard, the petrol Clubman ALL4 can sprint from 0-62mph in seven seconds, while the diesel with its standard eight-speed auto takes 7.2 seconds.

Despite the addition of the four-wheel drive system, MINI says that it’s taken special care to make it as compact and lightweight as possible so as not to hamper either performance or efficiency.

Well-equipped and still efficient

As a result, the Clubman ALL4 can return up to 40.9mpg for the petrol and 58.9mpg for the diesel, with CO2 emissions of 159g/km and 126g/km respectively.

The ALL4 models also benefit from a wide range of kit, including sat-nav and the Excitement Package as standard, which adds puddle lights that display the MINI logo and LED interior ambient lighting.

Prices for the MINI Clubman ALL4 models starts from £24,305 for the petrol version with six-speed manual gearbox, while the diesel is priced from £27,410 and deliveries are due to begin in April.
