Honda Jazz 2018 facelift adds new petrol engine

The Honda Jazz is getting a facelift for 2018 and the first pictures and details on the updated supermini have now been revealed. A new 128bhp engine and sportier trim level are among the changes.

Honda has revealed a facelifted version of its latest Jazz supermini, which gets a new petrol engine as well as numerous styling updates and a new trim. The updated Jazz is available to order from this November and deliveries will follow in early 2018.

The design updates for the 2018 Honda Jazz include redesigned headlights, bumpers and air vents and there’s also a new paint job for the exterior available called Skyride Blue.

Added to the engine line-up is a 1.5-litre petrol unit with 128bhp. This engine can be mated to a six-speed manual gearbox or CVT automatic ‘box. When fitted with the CVT, the new engine officially returns 52.3mpg combined and CO2 emissions of 124g/km. The Jazz range will continue to also offer a 1.3-litre petrol unit with 101bhp, which was up until now the only engine this Honda had to offer.

Another new addition to the 2018 Honda Jazz range is the new Dynamic trim. This new trim gives the Jazz a sportier look by adding new design touches including a front splitter, rear diffuser, new side skirts, 16-inch black alloy wheels, a small hatch lid spoiler and contrasting red accents.

Inside the Jazz, the Dynamic trim also brings unique orange pinstripe detailing to the seats, and contrasting orange stitching is also found in certain parts of the cabin. Leather trim is also added to the gear knob and steering wheel.

The 2018 facelifted Honda Jazz will make its first public appearance at the Frankfurt Motor Show next month.
