Hyundai has introduced a new special edition trim to its i10 and i20 ranges.
Dubbed Play, this new trim level aims to bring high levels of equipment for a low entry price — starting from just £11,195 for the i10, matching that of the existing SE grade.
It does beat the SE on luxuries though, featuring 15-inch alloy wheels, rear privacy glass, a seven-inch touchscreen infotainment system with DAB radio plus support for both Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, and Play badging to distinguish the model. Exclusively available with a 1.0-litre 66bhp petrol engine, the i10 Play is available in a choice of five colours.
Similarly, to the i10, the i20 Play also bests its SE grade on equipment — but also goes a step further by beating it on price too. It’s £1,000 less than that trim at £14,495, bringing with it 16-inch alloy wheels, rear privacy glass, the same seven-inch system at its smaller stablemate and a two-tone paint finish. Powering this version is a 1.2-litre 83bhp petrol engine.
Hyundai’s Play variants are now available to order, with first examples already landing in showrooms.
