Jaguar improves Ingenium engines for XE, XF and F-PACE

Jaguar is launching a range of updates for the XE, XF and F-PACE, including improved Ingenium engines with greater efficiency and power.

Jaguar is introducing engine, technology and equipment updates for several of its current models, including the XE and XF saloons and the F-PACE saloon.

The biggest announcement among the changes are three new and improved Ingenium engines. These include a 2.0-litre twin-turbo petrol engine with outputs of 197bhp or 247bhp, plus a twin-turbo diesel with 237bhp.

Jaguar models with the new petrol engine will be marked with ‘20t’ or ‘25t’ badging for the 197bhp and 247bhp units respectively, while cars with the new diesel are marked with ‘25d’ badging.

Order books are now open for the updated XE, XF and F-PACE line-ups in the UK.

XE updates

The Jaguar XE receives all of the new Ingenium engines and the range-topping XE S has also been updated with a power boost. The flagship saloon now boasts 375bhp from its 3.0-litre supercharged V6 petrol engine.

Now also available for the XE is a driving setting adjustment control called Configurable Dynamics. Other additions include a gesture-controlled boot lid and a 12.3-inch TFT virtual instrument cluster replacing the traditional dials behind the steering wheel.

XF updates

All three of the new Ingenium engines are also available for the updated Jaguar XF. The 247bhp petrol and 237bhp diesel units are both available with all-wheel drive in place of the standard rear-wheel drive powertrain.

Other additions to the XF range include Configurable Dynamics and Adaptive Dynamics to adjust the driving experience, a gesture-controlled boot lid, blind spot detection and improved driver and front passenger seats.

F-PACE updates

Joining the updated F-PACE range is a new entry-level diesel engine, a 2.0-litre Ingenium unit with 161bhp which emits 126g/km of CO2. Linked to a manual gearbox and rear-wheel drive powertrain, the new entry-level diesel F-PACE also averages 59.2mpg combined. With this new engine, the Jaguar SUV is called the F-PACE E-Performance.

The 237bhp Ingenium diesel also joins the F-PACE range, along with the 247bhp petrol option. The F-PACE’s existing 178bhp diesel has also been adjusted so that you can now order it with an automatic gearbox and rear-wheel drive combined.

Other updates include an updated and more premium front seat, plus more exterior paint colours and Jaguar’s Dual View screen for the cabin.
