Kia has announced the pricing for its Optima Sportswagon plug-in hybrid, which has been updated for 2019.
Now available in two trim levels – PHEV and PHEV Plus – the refreshed model comes with sportier bumpers and 17-inch alloy wheels as standard.
As one of the models in Kia’s expanding electrified range, the Sportswagon PHEV is fitted with a 2.0-litre petrol engine paired to a 50kW electric motor that combine to develop 202bhp and 375Nm of torque. It comes with a six-speed automatic transmission.
That power means the PHEV can go from 0-60mph in 9.4 seconds and reach a top speed of 119mph.
With a quoted electric range of 33 miles, Kia claims the Sportswagon PHEV can achieve 188.3mpg on the WLTP cycle and emit just 33g/km CO2.
As standard, the PHEV comes with LED daytime running lights and headlights with auto-levelling function, front and rear parking sensors, reversing camera and smart cruise control with speed limiter.

Inside, an eight-inch touchscreen with satellite navigation and smartphone connectivity features, as well as dual-zone climate control, leather-trimmed steering wheel and gear shifter, an eight-speaker harman/kardon sound system and a 4.3-inch TFT instrument display.
The PHEV model comes with black cloth and faux leather upholstery, while the PHEV Plus features black leather on the seats.
PHEV Plus also adds the smart park assist system, a panoramic sunroof, hydrophobic front glass, powered tailgate and high-beam assist, as well as a wireless phone charger, 360-degree around-view monitor, blind spot monitoring with rear cross traffic alert and ventilated front seats.
Prices for the Sportswagon PHEV start from £34,995, while PHEV Plus has an initial price of £38,995.
