Land Rover has unveiled the Discovery Commercial, which offers a high level of practicality and passenger comfort in a premium package.
Coming with a load capacity of 1,856 litres and a powered tailgate, as well as a 3.5-tonne towing capacity, the Commercial is built to be as versatile as possible.
Apart from Land Rover removing the two back rows of seats and sharpening up the handling, most of the vehicle does stay the same with the chassis and all-terrain capabilities remaining from the standard vehicle.
As standard models come with four-wheel drive, air suspension and an automatic transmission, which is paired to either a 237bhp 2.0-litre SD4 engine or a 255bhp 3.0-litre V6 – both of which are diesel units.
In the front, it is as if you were in a standard Discovery as you get the standard InControl Touch Pro media system, driving comfort features and Terrain Response 2 system.
Standard assistance features include autonomous emergency braking, lane departure warning, cruise control and speed limiter, hill launch assist, trailer stability assist and dynamic stability control – with many others aside.
Jaguar Land Rover UK managing director Jeremy Hicks said: “Discovery Commercial has always been a key part of the Discovery line-up since the Discovery 1, but the latest version brings new levels of practicality, versatility and premium levels of comfort that showcase the vehicle’s hard-working DNA."
Coming in three trim levels, the Discovery Commercial starts from £48,695 OTR, with pre-VAT pricing starting from £40,333. On sale now, deliveries will start in the second quarter of 2018.
