The immense popularity of the new Nissan Leaf – the second generation of the world’s best-selling electric car – has led Nissan to launch a new online pre-ordering process. The digital system allows potential customers to order a new Leaf in just two minutes .
Order books are currently open for the limited-run 2.ZERO special edition, with 10,000 pre-orders placed across Europe in just two months.
“There’s simply no reason to be stuck in a long line of deposits waiting for something to happen,” said Carl Bayliss, EV manager for Nissan GB. “Now’s the time for those ready to make the switch to enjoy all the benefits that an all-electric, zero emissions vehicle can bring.”
All customers need to do is log on to the Nissan UK website. After choosing a colour, they can decide between an outright purchase – prices start from £26,490 – or a monthly Personal Contract Purchase deal.
Once the reservation has been made, the customer’s preferred dealer will contact them to finalise the sale.
The Leaf is currently available with a PCP deal consisting of a £5,138 customer deposit, £1,000 dealer deposit contribution and monthly payments of £339 on a three-year, 30,000 mile contract.
The limited-run 2.ZERO version is limited to 1,500 models, and is positioned just under range-topping Tekna trim. It includes high levels of equipment, including heated seats front and rear, climate control, all-round camera system and 17-inch alloy wheels.
It also includes features common across the Leaf range, including the innovate e-Pedal, which allows drivers to accelerate, decelerate and even come to a complete stop without ever touching the brake.
All Leafs come fitted with a 40kWh battery, giving up to 235 miles of range and maximum power of 148bhp from the electric motor.
