M Performance Parts announced for upcoming BMW M2 Competition

Recently-revealed BMW M2 Competition will be available with bespoke M Performance Parts at launch, the German firm has revealed.

It hasn’t been long since BMW revealed the brand-new M2 Competition, but the firm hasn’t hesitated in revealing a range of bespoke parts for the performance monster.

BMW’s ‘M Performance Parts’ catalogue will be available from the factory for the refreshed coupe, giving buyers the chance to make their car stand out from the crowd — as well as improving the driving experience.

In order to achieve the latter, an M Performance suspension kit is available. This replaces the standard system with an adjustable setup, which allows the car to be lowered by up to 20mm along with configurable compression and rebound settings.

For those wanting extra stopping power, an upgraded braking system is also available. It consists of six-piston fixed calipers up front and four-piston calipers on the rear axle, with improved pads on the parts on the list too.

These new brakes can be housed behind M Performance 19-inch alloy wheels. These five-spoke units each weigh 3.2kg less than the standard wheels found on the base car — as well as exposing the red callipers. They’re available in either Jet Black matte or Frozen Gold paint finishes and can be wrapped in Michelin Pilot Sport Cup 2 tyres.

There are also a variety of carbon-fibre body parts on offer to enhance the look of the M2 Competition as well as save weight — including a new bonnet, a tailgate and a number of air intakes. A rear wing and front splitter are available for some extra downforce.

Giving the M2 Competition vocal chords is an M Performance exhaust system, which features a titanium rear silencer and 93mm tailpipes constructed from carbon fibre. Finishing off the range of parts available are a number of interior upgrades, including an M Performance steering wheel and Alcantara upholstery for the handbrake.

UK pricing for the range of M Performance parts has yet to be confirmed, but they will be available alongside the BMW M2 Competition when it hits dealers later this year — with the car available from £49,825.
