Maserati is now offering the petrol-powered Levante S model, which joins the diesel version that has been on sale since last year.
The Italian manufacturer’s first SUV will now come with a 3.0-litre V6 engine that produces 424bhp and is paired with an eight-speed automatic gearbox. That combines to offer a top speed of 164mph and a 0-60mph time of 5.0 seconds.
Available with four driving modes – Normal, I.C.E., Sport and Off-Road – that alters the suspension, engine, transmission and electronic settings, the Levante also comes with a modern sports braking system.
Under the skin of the Levante is an intelligent all-wheel drive system, torque vectoring and aluminium suspension setup with electronically-controlled springs and dampers. Paired with the lightweight aluminium structure, 50/50 weight distribution and low centre of gravity, the Levante is one of the more dynamic on- and off-road models in its sector.
The Levante S is also available with the optional ADAS safety package, which includes highway assist, lane keep assist, active blind spot assist and traffic sign recognition. Maserati also fits electronic power steering for the 2018 Levante.
Maserati offers two trim levels – GranLusso and GranSport – that both offer a high-level finish. Leather upholstery covers the seats and steering wheel, while wood and metal finish the interior trim options.
The Levante GranLusso comes with 19-inch alloy wheels, black brake calipers, metallic front skid plates and body colour side skirts. The GranSport has a more dynamic finish with a black grille, red brake calipers, leather sports seats, a sports steering wheel and 20-inch alloy wheels.
Levante S models start from £70,755 and are available to order now, with deliveries starting in 2018.
