Mazda 3 and Mazda 6 refreshed with autumn updates

Mazda 3 and Mazda 6 refreshed with autumn updates

The Mazda 3 and Mazda 6 line-ups are both being kept fresh with new driving technology and improved interiors which will be introduced this autumn.

The Mazda 3 and 6 family cars are both getting freshened up this autumn with styling updates, upgraded cabins and new onboard technology.

An intriguing driving feature which both the 3 and the 6 receive as part of their updates is called G-Vectoring Control. This is designed to reduce driver stress and fatigue while travelling long distances.

How G-Vectoring can make driving less stressful

G-Vectoring Control works by modulating engine torque in order to put added weight to the contact patches of the front tyres. This allows the driver to steer through corners without having to make so many small corrections as they normally would. It also reduces the need to make steering adjustments while travelling on a straight road.

Mazda says that these subtle changes can make a huge difference to how much physical and mental strain a driver goes through during a long driving trip.

Mazda 3 updates

Focusing more on the Mazda 3, the family car is still available in hatchback and saloon-esque fastback body styles. Styling changes include a revised grille, new fog lights, revised door mirrors and a new rear bumper for the hatchback version. There’s also new colours for the exterior called Machine Grey Mica, Eternal Blue Mica and Sonic Silver Metallic.

The interior of the Mazda 3 benefits from higher-quality switch panels and handle bezels on the doors, plus new trim for the dashboard. A leather steering wheel and electric parking brake is also introduced.

Mazda also says that its 3 range is all-round significantly more refined while being driven than before.

Pricing for the updated Mazda 3 ranges between £17,595 and £24,195.

Mazda 6 updates

In similar fashion to the Mazda 3, the updated Mazda 6 has had revisions made to its 2.2-litre diesel engine to make it more refined and deliver its power smoother. Sound insulation throughout the cabin has also been improved.

A Machine Grey metallic paint job is also added to the colour options for the exterior. The range-topping Sport Nav model adds a leather steering wheel and enhanced head-up display with traffic sign recognition.

Pricing for the Mazda 6 is unchanged so it still ranges between £19,795 and £28,895.
