McLaren has taken the covers off a unique 720S that is inspired by the founder of the McLaren brand, Bruce McLaren.
The black and gold model was revealed at the Dubai International Motor Show and is the centrepiece of the McLaren stand at the event held from November 14 to 18.
The highlight of the model is the specially-designed rear wing, which has a quote from Bruce McLaren written in Arabic and then stylised to look like the city skyline in Dubai. The quote reads: “Life is measured in achievement, not in years alone” and is written in gold to match the rest of the car.
Andreas Baries, managing director for McLaren Automotive in the Middle East, Latin America and Africa, said: “The quote from Bruce McLaren rings true not only of the history of McLaren, but also the achievements of the UAE and the Gulf states over the last four decades.
“The UAE and the region are very important to McLaren, not only in terms of our client base, but also because of the support from our shareholders. This car pays tribute to that.”
This limited-run model comes with a black Alcantara and leather interior trim, carbon fibre sill panels, interior pack and steering wheel, gold-painted gear shifters and gold-coloured detailing throughout.
The exterior design includes the carbon fibre upgrade pack which adds carbon fibre detailing to the front splitter, air intakes, rear bumper and roof panel, as well as extra additional features.
The unnamed owner of the 212mph supercar will take delivery when the show is finished.
