Mercedes-Benz has announced the pricing for the all-new Sprinter AWD, which is available on both the 3 and 5 Series versions of the van.
Starting from £37,540 excl. VAT, the Sprinter AWD offers improved traction thanks to the Mercedes 4-ETS system, which uses the Adaptive ESP that offers traction management on the go.
The all-wheel drive system also comes with a selectable low range transmission and downhill speed regulation to help with traction, while the climbing ability of the vehicle has also been enhanced.
Controlled by a dashboard-mounted rocker switch, the AWD can be turned on or off electro-hydraulically from 4x4 to 4x2 at speeds up to 6mph if the conditions comply – with electronic control used to manage traction.
When engaged, the 4x4 mode sends 65 per cent of power to the rear axle, while low range torque is increased by 40 per cent.
The Sprinter AWD also comes with entrance grab handles for the front doors, hydraulic steering and mixed-use mud and slush tyres for all-round stability.
Available with two length and height options, customers can choose from Chassis, Crewcab and Van model options.
Deliveries will begin in March when production begins.
