Updates to the interior have also been made, with wood trim options available on the dash paired to high gloss materials in the central console with chrome surrounding trim. The multi-contour seat package is also available on the C-Class for the first time.

It can also be fitted with the 12.3-inch fully digital instrument display first seen in the S-Class, which would work in tandem with a seven-inch or a 10.25-inch central touchscreen that can be controlled by touch-sensitive controls on the steering wheel.

Multimedia functions come in the form of Bluetooth connectivity with smartphone interface, an optional satellite navigation system, USB ports and SD card slots, with a wireless charging option on offer. A nine-speaker Burmester surround-sound system is also available.

Active brake assist comes as standard, with customers needing to apply the driving assistance package to include further features, such as active distance assist and active steering assist.

Another optional feature included is the energizing comfort control, which combines the ventilated heated massage front seats, music and scented air conditioning to make a relaxing drive environment.

Prices and specifications for the new C-Class line-up will be fully revealed towards the end of March, with deliveries beginning in August.
