New 2015 Honda HR-V reaches UK shores

Honda is beginning shipments of its latest-generation HR-V crossover in the UK, with the first batch arriving in Bristol docks.

Although there is a plethora of crossover competition already on offer in the UK, Honda’s second-generation HR-V represents a return to a segment that the Japanese brand claims it started back in 1999.

With almost 350 people putting their names down for a HR-V before even driving it, there has already been a lot of interest in the new crossover, which is scheduled to make it into showrooms at the end of the month.

Starting from just under £18,000, the HR-V is set to compete against an array of crossovers of all different sizes, as it sits in-between the Nissan Juke and Qashqai for size. That means it will also challenge the likes of the Fiat 500X, Hyundai Tuscon and Renault Kadjar.

Standard kit on every HR-V model includes front and rear parking sensors, Bluetooth, climate control, DAB digital radio and steering-wheel mounted controls. Those who want a more luxurious package can go for the flagship EX model, which adds a rear view camera, a panoramic glass roof, LED daytime running lights and leather upholstery.

2015 has been a huge year for Honda. As well as launching the new HR-V, 2015 has seen Honda significantly facelift its Civic and CR-V models, as well as launch its all-new Jazz and Civic Type R. 2016 is set to start with a bang as well as Honda plans to launch its NSX sports car.
