New Audi A5 Sportback range is available for UK orders

Audi has made its new A5 and S5 Sportback models available for orders in the UK, just a few weeks after they were public revealed at the 2016 Paris Motor Show.

Coupe versions of the new A5 and S5 were already available to order since late September. The Sportback models will arrive in British dealerships just a couple of months after their coupe counterparts in February 2017.

Pricing has been confirmed for the majority of specifications, although the entry level SE trim for the A5 Sportback is an exception.

The next trim level in the Sportback’s line-up, the Sport trim, starts from £38,005. This is nearly six grand more than the Sport version of the A5 Coupe, which starts from £32,600.

Following Sport is the A5 Sportback S Line which starts from £38,130. The S5 Sportback starts from £47,000.

Ultra diesel for standard Sportback

From launch the SE trim version of the new A5 Sportback will come with a 187bhp 2.0-litre TDI ultra diesel engine. This can be hooked up to either a six-speed manual gearbox or seven-speed S tronic automatic ‘box. It officially returns up to 70.6mpg combined and emits 105g/km of CO2.

Standard kit includes xenon headlights with LED daytime running lights, three-zone climate control and Audi’s Smartphone interface which supports Android Auto and Apple Carplay.

Sport versions of the A5 Sportback can use the same 2.0-litre diesel engine as the SE, but Quattro four-wheel drive can be utilised in place of the standard front-wheel drive set-up. There’s also a 248bhp 2.0-litre TFSI petrol engine available.

These same engines are available for the A5 Sportback S Line, along with a 248bhp version of the 2.0-litre diesel and a 3.0-litre V6 diesel with 268bhp and a Quattro set-up standard.

The S5 Sportback uses a 344bhp V6 petrol engine with Quattro and an eight-speed tiptronic automatic gearbox coming as standard.
