New Jaguar XF Sportbrake expected in late 2017

A Sportbrake estate version of the latest Jaguar XF is expected to arrive towards the end of 2017. Read more about what we know here.

A Sportbrake estate version of the current-generation XF will reportedly launch just before the end of next year, following a likely public debut at the 2017 Frankfurt Motor Show.

The current-generation Jaguar XF was launched towards the end of 2015 and is currently offered as a saloon only. The previous XF added an estate version called the Sportbrake to its line-up and such a car is now expected to come to latest executive Jag before the end of next year.

Jaguar’s Sales Operations Director Andy Goss reportedly acknowledged that a new XF Sportbrake was in the works back in September during the 2016 Paris Motor Show. Spy photos of disguised XF Sportbrakes undergoing testing have also emerged online, pretty much confirming the car’s existence beyond doubt.

Engines expected to be carried over from saloon

We can expect the styling of the new Sportbrake to be very similar next to the current XF saloon. A higher roofline, larger load bay and roof rails are set to be the main differences design-wise.

Expect the 2.0-litre diesel engine offered with the XF saloon, with outputs of 161bhp and 178bhp, to be carried over to the new Sportbrake. An S model with a 297bhp 3.0-litre V6 diesel is also likely, plus a V6 petrol model boasting 375bhp.

Pricing for the new XF Sportbrake will likely start from around £35,000. The 2017 Frankfurt Motor Show, the likely event the new Sportbrake will make its public debut, takes place next September.
