New Renault Clio named Carbuyer’s car of the year 2020

It’s the first major award for the next-generation version of Renault’s supermini.

Renault’s all-new Clio has been announced as Carbuyer’s new car of the year for 2020 – securing a win next to models from BMW, Skoda and Mercedes.

The latest version of Renault’s most popular car arrived in showrooms a few months ago with an all-new interior, revised styling and greater spaciousness. Carbuyer awarded the hatchback its most prestigious award for its stylish design, class-leading interior and excellent fuel economy.

Carbuyer’s editor-at-large and head of motoring video, James Batchelor said: “The latest Renault Clio is the embodiment of what Carbuyer – and many UK motorists – look for in a car.

“It's modern, laden with the latest tech and has an interior that punches above its weight, with style and space you wouldn't expect. The Clio's fun nature, efficiency and forward-thinking powertrains also help in making it the Carbuyer Car of the Year for 2020.”
