Nissan LEAF adds sporty Black Edition

The Nissan LEAF electric hatchback is adding a sporty limited edition model to its range called the Black Edition.

The Nissan LEAF is the latest car to get a sporty, colour-themed special edition, courtesy of the new Black Edition. This limited version of the LEAF will go on sale in March 2017.

It is based on the mid-range Acenta trim, which has been available with the LEAF’s latest and most powerful electric motor, the 30kW powertrain, since earlier this year.

The LEAF Black Edition’s exterior features include a black rear roof spoiler, black door mirror caps, 16-inch black alloy wheels, privacy glass and LED headlights.

Inside, the LEAF Black Edition features blue-stitched mats to give the cabin a more premium feel and the smartphone-compatible NissanConnect infotainment system is also standard. The 360 Around View Monitor is another standard feature onboard.

Nissan says that the first 1,000 customers of the LEAF Black Edition will receive a free in-vehicle wi-fi hotspot, capable of providing wi-fi to up to eight devices at any one time. Production of the Nissan LEAF Black Edition will last until August 2017.
