Peugeot adds GT Line trim to range

Peugeot is expanding its trim level line-up by introducing a sport-derived trim level that adds a host of aesthetic upgrades. Although carrying a similar name to models like the 308 GT, the GT Line is aimed at offering an affordable sports derivative, rather than adding greater performance credentials.

Models in the Peugeot range to gain the new GT Line trim include the 208, 308, 508 and RCZ.

On the outside, the new GT Line grade adds twin exhaust tailpipes, larger wheels, LED headlights and LED directional indicators (308 and 508 models), LED rear taillights and ‘GT Line’ badging. The interior benefits from a unique RedLine colour scheme for the touchscreen display as well as black and red trim dotted around the cabin.

Adding a sports styling trim is quite common for manufacturers nowadays. In fact, Honda has just introduced a new ‘Sport’ grade as part of its 2015 Civic hatchback facelift – which adds the same type of visually-based enhancements. BMW and its M Sport equipment grade is another example.

With the new GT Line, Peugeot fans can now purchase more affordable versions of performance cars like the 308 GT and Peugeot RCZ R. For example, if you were to purchase the Peugeot 308 GT Line, it would cost £2,650 less than the GT model – with the obvious omission of the more powerful powertrain.
