Hyundai has announced prices and specs for the stylish new i30 Fastback N Line, with the model starting from £20,495.

The Fastback offers coupe-like looks in a practical five-door hatchback package, with the N Line variant following on from the new i30 Fastback N, which costs from £29,995. The Fastback becomes the second model in the South Korean manufacturer’s line-up to get the sporty N Line treatment – after the standard i30. An N Line version of the popular Tucson crossover has also been unveiled.

Over the standard i30 Fastback, the N Line gains sporty styling details from the hot hatch N model. Highlights include a revised front bumper with a mesh cascading grille, and black exterior accents. At the rear it features the N’s trademark triangular fog light and a diffuser, while the interior benefits from branded sports seats, a leather sports steering wheel and a revised gear knob.

However, it’s not just all about looks, with the Fastback N Line coming with chassis changes to ensure an improved driving experience. Models fitted with the 138bhp turbocharged 1.4-litre petrol engine benefit from grippy Michelin PilotSport4 tyres, as well as alterations to the suspension setup and engine tweaks to offer an improved response and drive.

The model is also offered with a turbocharged 118bhp 1.0-litre petrol engine, although this doesn’t benefit from the chassis tweaks.

It comes in two trim levels – N Line and N Line +. Standard equipment is generous, with all models coming with an eight-inch touchscreen with smartphone integration, electric lumbar support, automatic emergency braking and lane-keep assist. Prices start from £20,495 for the base N-Line trim, which is offered with both variants of the petrol engine.

The N-Line + is exclusively offered with the 1.4-litre petrol engine. On top of the aforementioned driving tweaks, it comes with heated faux leather and suede sports seats, dual-zone climate control, LED headlights, a heated steering wheel and satellite navigation. N-Line + starts from £23,760.

Both models are on sale now, and come with Hyundai’s fantastic five-year unlimited mileage warranty.
