Prices announced for Alfa Romeo’s flagship Giulia GTA model

Further liveries have also been announced for one of Alfa Romeo’s most extreme models to date

Alfa Romeo has revealed further details about its eagerly awaited flagship Giulia GTA model.

The Italian brand’s most performance-focused model in years was unveiled last month, and takes a spot at the top of the firm’s range.

Alfa Romeo has only revealed pricing in Euros for now, with the four-door performance car costing from €176,500 (£153,000) for the GTA model and €181,500 (£157,500) for the more extreme GTAm version.

As it’s considerably more expensive than the regular Giulia Quadrifoglio, Alfa Romeo is adding to the exclusivity by announcing a host of model-specific liveries. Developed by its ‘Centre Stilo’ division, the limited-edition liveries come from historic Alfa Romeo GTA models.

Owners can choose to paint the front end of their car in a different shade to the rest of the body – a nod to the firm’s past racing cars, while additional colours available include GTA Red, Trophy White and Montreal Green. Buyers can also choose various colours for the brake callipers, roll bar, seatbelts and stitching.

Given the high price, Alfa Romeo is stepping up the customer experience – a product specialist is available to talk the owner though the car, while driving courses, helmets and a Goodwool car cover also come with the model. Owners can also choose to collect their GTA car from the firm’s base in Italy, too.

The GTA features a tuned 2.9-litre V6 engine, which sees its power increase from the 503bhp in the regular Giulia QV to 533bhp. Alfa Romeo has managed to cut 100kg from the weight of the Quadrifolgio, too – giving the model the best power-to-weight ratio in its class. The GTAm also has its standard-fit seats removed, replaced by just two racing seats with six-point seatbelts installed in the front. Additional carbon-fibre elements feature throughout the cabin, too.

Just 500 versions of the GTA and GTAm are being produced, with models expected to arrive before the end of 2020.
