Prices announced for new Vauxhall Astra Sports Tourer

The all-new Vauxhall Astra Sports Tourer is due to arrive in the UK next March, with prices starting from £16,585.

Built at Vauxhall’s plant in Ellesmere Port, Cheshire, the estate version of the new Astra is as much as £1,870 less expensive than its predecessor, depending on the choice of trim level.

Five trim options are available, starting with the entry-level Design model, through Tech Line, SRi, SRi Nav, Elite and finishing with the range-topping Elite Nav version.

Standard kit includes 16-inch alloy wheels, air conditioning and cruise control with a speed limiter, plus automatic lights, LED lights, hill start assist and a seven-inch touchscreen infotainment system.

Opting for the £17,285 Tech Line trim adds a leather steering wheel and upgraded eight-inch touchscreen infotainment system with integrated sat-nav, plus a six-speaker premium sound system.

SRi trim, which is priced from £19,885, adds larger 17-inch alloys and silver effect roof rails in place of the standard black rails, plus sports seats and Vauxhall’s OnStar in-car connectivity feature.

As well as that, SRi models also benefit from a Driving Assistance Pack, which adds lane departure warning, traffic sign recognition and emergency city braking, while SRi Nav models get integrated sat-nav.

The Elite model, which starts from £20,605, gets all of the above plus heated sports seats with electronic lumbar adjustment and leather upholstery, along with dual-zone climate control.

An electric parking brake also features on the Elite, plus an automatic anti-dazzle rear view mirror, electrically folding door mirrors and a remote control alarm, plus sat-nav for the Elite Nav option.

Engine options include a choice of a 1.0-litre turbocharged three cylinder petrol engine, which can achieve as little as 96g/km of CO2 when specified with an optional five-speed automatic gearbox.

The new Astra Sports Tourer also comes with the option of a 109bhp 1.6-litre Whisper Diesel, which achieves up to 85.6mpg on the combined cycle, plus a range-topping 197bhp 1.6-litre petrol.
