Renault has announced UK pricing for a new petrol engine in the Scenic and Grand Scenic ranges.
Starting from £22,005, both MPVs now have the option of a 1.3-litre motor, available in two states of tune.
The base option produces 113bhp and 220Nm of torque and is only available with a manual transmission. When in the Scenic, this results in a 0-60mph time of 11.1 seconds with a top speed of 113mph. Fuel economy is a claimed 52.3mpg, with CO2 emissions of 122g/km.
As for the larger Grand Scenic, 0-60mph comes in 11.7 seconds with a top speed of 111mph. Efficiency is claimed at 50.4mpg with CO2 emissions of 125g/km.
The second option boasts more power, producing 138bhp and 240Nm of torque, with the choice of a manual or automatic gearbox. When equipped with the manual on the Scenic, 0-60mph comes in 9.9 seconds with a top speed of 121mph. Efficiency figures are claimed to be identical to the less powerful version.
When in the Grand Scenic, the top-spec 1.3-litre engine with the manual transmission can take the car from 0-60mph in 10.1 seconds and to a 119mph top speed. Like the Scenic, efficiency figures are said to be identical to the standard motor.
The new 1.3-litre engine will be available to order for Renault’s Scenic and Grand Scenic from January 1, 2018, with deliveries expected in February.
