Renault has revealed pricing for its upcoming limited-edition Megane R.S. Trophy-R hot hatchback.
Restricted to just 32 UK units, the Megane is available at a starting price of £51,140. Powering the hatch is a 1.8-litre turbocharged engine producing 296bhp, sent to the front wheels via a six-speed manual gearbox.
Standard features on the car include Ohlins dampers, an Akrapovic lightweight titanium exhaust, a carbon composite bonnet, a carbon-fibre rear diffuser and Renault’s R.S Monitor system which provides in-depth telemetry to aid in improving and comparing race track data.
That’s all on top of Brembo brakes, lightweight 19-inch alloy wheels wrapped in Bridgestone Potenza S007 tyres, a set of two bucket seats, an Alcantara-covered steering wheel and a seven-inch R-Link 2 infotainment system.
Upgrading to the £63,140 Carbon Wheel pack adds a set of 19-inch Carbon Revolution wheels made of, you guessed it, carbon-fibre, in addition to the standard wheels. These are said to save 2kg of unsprung mass and come secured in tailored storage bags with a specially-designed cradle behind the front seats for transport.
Those looking for the ultimate Renault Megane R.S. Trophy-R can opt for the £72,140 Nurburgring Record Pack. Building on the Carbon Wheel model, it adds a carbon-ceramic front braking system, Brembo callipers and a new ‘dynamic intake’ which replaces the R.S. Vision 4 lighting in the lower bump to both drop weight and increase engine cooling. This specification matches that of the car that set a 7:40.1 lap time around the ‘Green Hell’.
With order books now open, first customer deliveries of the Renault Megane R.S. Trophy-R are expected to begin in later in the year.
