Pricing revealed for special edition 2019 Ford Mustang Bullitt

The new Mustang Bullitt muscle car marks 50 years since the famous Bullitt film debuted.

Ford has announced prices for its new Mustang Bullitt – which will cost from £47,145.

Ford originally showed off the Mustang at the Detroit Motor Show in January as a US special celebrating the iconic original model. UK demand for the edition led to Ford announcing it would bring the model to the UK, though.

The Mustang Bullitt is painted in Dark Highland Green and Shadow Black – the same as painted to the original car. It celebrates 50 years since the legendary Bullitt film debuted.

Elsewhere, it receives Bullitt signatures on the front grille and splitter as well as a prominent Bullitt rear badge. Nineteen-inch gloss black wheels are also fitted, along with red-painted Brembo brake callipers.

Recaro leather seats, green interior detailing including green stitching, a white cue ball gear knob and a Bullitt instrument panel badge set off the interior compared to the standard Mustang. There’s also a B&O Play premium sound system fitted, too.

Being such a symbol of American muscle cars, it’s little surprise that Ford ditched the 2.3-litre EcoBoost petrol engine for the Bullitt – instead offering it with the 452bhp V8 only. It’s paired with a six-speed manual transmission with new rev-matching technology, helping to achieve smoother downshifts.

Available as a two-door Fastback (coupe), it works out roughly £5,500 more expensive than the normal V8-powered Mustang.

The vehicle made its first UK debut over the weekend at the American Speedfest show at Brands Hatch racing circuit.

Mustang Bullitt is available to order now, with first deliveries expected in September. While no volume limits have been announced, the production run of the car will last until June 2019.
