The French firm has also expanded the personalisation options.

Citroen has revealed a revised version of its best-selling C3, which features updated styling and additional safety and connectivity firm.

With more than 750,000 units being produced since the third-generation C3’s introduction in 2016, it remains Citroen’s most popular model.

For 2020 it receives design changes to the front end, which showcases a new light signature for the LED headlights and 17-inch alloy wheels.

The ‘airbump’ designs (the plastic design pieces on the side of the car, which help to protect the car as well as add a bit of flair) have also been updated, with buyers able to choose a number of colour packs to add customise their car.

Personalisation is also key here, with the number of customisation options increasing from 36 to 97 combinations, with new colours, contrasting accents and graphics available.

Customers can also individualise the interior with a number of ‘ambiances’, including a new Techwood configuration, which features fabric seats with a wood-like strip and special stitching. Elsewhere in the interior Citroen has fitted the model with the ‘advanced comfort seats’ found in the C4 Cactus and C5 Aircross. They are said to feel like an armchair, and use special foam to ensure maximum comfort.

Additional safety kit is also available, including new front parking sensors, as well as blind-spot monitoring and a driver attention alert.

The same line-up of three-cylinder petrol engines and a four-cylinder diesel unit as before will also be offered.

Order books for the facelifted C3 will open in April, with prices and specs still yet to be announced, though expect a slight price increase over the current model’s £16,200 starting price. First deliveries are expected in June.
