Reservations open for Peugeot’s new range of plug-in hybrids

The new range of powerful PHEVs offer up to 40 miles of electric range.

Peugeot has announced that its latest range of plug-in hybrids are now available to order.

As part of Peugeot’s fresh push towards electrification, four new plug-in hybrid versions are joining the range – including two PHEV versions of the 3008 crossover, as well as the 508 fastback and 508 SW estate.

The 3008 Hybrid, 508 Hybrid and 508 SW Hybrid each use a turbocharged  1.6-litre petrol engine paired to an electric motor to produce a combined 222bhp. They also feature an 11.8kWh lithium-ion battery, which allows for an electric range of up to 39 miles.

As for the 3008 GT Hybrid4, this uses a turbocharged 1.6-litre petrol engine paired to two electric motors – therefore allowing for four-wheel-drive – to produce a combined 296bhp. This will make it the most powerful model in Peugeot’s range, as it’s able to sprint from 0-60mph in 5.7 seconds. It features a 13.2kWh lithium-ion battery, which allows for an EV range of up to 40 miles, along with low CO2 emissions.

All these models are available to reserve now online with a £500 deposit, though full pricing and specs still need to be announced. First deliveries are expected in January 2020.

Peugeot is expecting the new models to be popular with the fleet market, thanks to hybrids offering low company car tax, while they will also cost less to tax than regular models, too.

David Peel, managing director of Peugeot UK, said: “2020 will be a significant year for Peugeot, as we officially start our UK deliveries of our new generation of fully electric vehicles, alongside all-new plug-in hybrid variants.

“The 3008 Hybrid, 3008 GT Hybrid4, 508 Hybrid and 508 SW Hybrid are significant vehicles for Peugeot and confirm our promise of having an electrified variant across our entire model line-up by 2023.”
