Seat Arona achieves five-stars on Euro NCAP tests

The Spanish brand’s small crossover scored full marks on the Euro NCAP tests, and comes with plenty of safety systems.

Seat’s newest addition to its line-up – the Arona – has scored five stars on the Euro NCAP safety tests.

The small crossover is the latest Seat model to score top marks in the continental safety tests, following the Ibiza, Leon and fellow SUV the Ateca.

The Arona scored 95 per cent on the adult occupancy rating – one of the top scores by a vehicle tested by Euro NCAP this year – and a child occupancy score of 80 per cent.

Safety assist scores were also above average, as the Arona comes with autonomous emergency braking and cruise control from the base model. Other systems on offer with the Arona include blind spot detection, rear cross-traffic alert and a tiredness recognition system.

With radar technology to help scan the road, you also get ABS and ESC to ensure you stay on the black stuff.

Parking assist is also available, which can be used for bay and parallel parking, and is paired with front and rear sensors to ensure you don’t hit anything.

The Arona is the smallest SUV model Seat will make, as the Ateca is the mid-size option that was introduced last year. The duo’s larger sibling will be named and unveiled next year and it is due to have seven seats.

Prices for the small crossover start from £16,555.
