Six new features on the face-lifted Renault Kadjar

Renaults compact SUV is getting a makeover – we look at six standout features coming to the new Kadjar.

In 2015, French manufacturer Renault established itself in the quickly growing small SUV segment by creating the Kadjar. Now, the popular model is being updated with some nice upgrades on offer.

Here are six features you need to know about the new Kadjar…

Styling

When creating a new look for the Kadjar, Renault focused on giving it a more assertive, refined, and attractive look. This face-lift has subtly, yet effectively, brought all of that. For example, the new Kadjar features a wider front grille and new chrome inserts.

Engines

This updated Kadjar adopts engines that improve both fuel efficiency and performance. On the petrol front, a 1.3-litre four-cylinder is a new addition to the range. Diesels, on the other hand, have been given more power and new technology to help cut down on emissions.

Transmission

The Kadjar, being an SUV, has been made ultimately to feel as comfortable on road as off it. This means you can get it in 4WD and 2WD – 2WD will offer better fuel efficiency, while the 4WD will give you better off-road capability and stability in tricky conditions. There are various driving modes and, with the 2WD option, you can get the Extended Grip System.

Improved comfort

The outgoing Kadjar fared very well when it came to comfort, and Renault is promising the new one will be even better. Seats have been redesigned and now feature length adjustment. As well as that, inner door panels have been completely reworked to aid practicality and ease of use – as controls for things such as the electric door mirrors have been moved into more suitable positions.

Connectivity

Renault’s R-Link 2 multimedia system now includes a smartphone mirroring function, making it compatible with Android Auto and Apple CarPlay. This helps to bring the Kadjar bang up to date, allowing drivers to use their driving-compatible apps on the go from the cars centre screen.

Improved practicality

This Kadjar is more usable than ever before, with several small but significant changes being introduced to make everyday life that bit easier. Changes such as refitted centre console, offering two larger cup holders complete with an adjustable function. Furthermore – as touched on before – the doors offer more space – with the front door bins are now big enough to hold a 1.5 litre bottle of water.
