Skoda has updated the Kodiaq SUV and revealed prices will start from £27,065.
The new model is expected to arrive in the UK in July and has a slightly tweaked exterior design as well as a few improvements to the interior.
There’s a new, higher bonnet, which is complemented by an upright, six-sided radiator grille, while the bumpers have been refined to give a more dynamic appearance. A new aluminium-effect trim is now used on the front and rear apron in SE and SE L trims, which gives a more upmarket look.
The headlights have also been redesigned with LED daytime running lights standard on every trim, while SE L trims and above get Matrix LED headlights. Meanwhile, the rear lights now have a sharper look thanks to LED technology.
Inside, the notable change is the steering wheel, which has a new two-spoke design, while SportLine and vRS versions have a three-spoke design.
The updated Kodiaq has five engine choices made up of three petrol and two diesels, with DSG automatic and four-wheel-drive options. At the top of the range. The sporty vRS version has replaced its diesel engine with a 2.0-litre turbocharged petrol, which makes 241bhp and is 60kg lighter than the engine it replaces. Weight savings have been made elsewhere too, with the automatic gearbox 5.2kg lighter.
On the driver assistance front, there’s a revised adaptive cruise control system as well as emergency braking that can now see pedestrians and cyclists. Meanwhile, new sensors at the back of the car can prepare the vehicle and its occupants if it senses a collision coming in from the rear.
There will be five trim levels on offer, called SE, SE L, SportLine, L&K and vRS. SE versions have a choice of five or seven seats, while all other trims have seven.
Prices start at £27,650 for the SE model and increase to £41,270 for the high-spec L&K model. The most expensive version will be the vRS, but Skoda has not confirmed prices for this model yet.
