Smartphone-friendly Fiat 500 Mirror adds Apple CarPlay and Android Auto

Fiat has unveiled a new special edition version of the funky 500 to mark the car’s 60th anniversary, which adds Apple CarPlay and Android Auto to the equipment list.

Called the Fiat 500 Mirror, it’s available as a hatchback or convertible in a choice of five different colours, including the Electronica Blue finish pictured, and comes complete with chrome-finished door mirrors.

Exclusive brushed aluminium badging and chrome-finished wheels complete the look, while standard equipment includes a leather steering wheel and a seven-inch Uconnect touchscreen.

The addition of Apple CarPlay and Android Auto means the car is now even more smartphone-friendly with drivers able to connect their phones directly to the car’s touchscreen system.

iPhone users can access Maps, Music, messages and Siri via the car’s screen, while Android users can use compatible apps, content and features and also use the system’s voice command features.

Just a single engine is available with the Mirror edition, a 68bhp 1.2-litre petrol, which comes with either a five-speed manual gearbox or a five-speed automatic.

Fiat says the car can return up to 62.8mpg on the combined cycle, while low emissions of 105g/km make the car environmentally friendly too, though manual models record slightly higher consumption.

The Fiat 500 Mirror edition is available to order from dealers now with prices starting from £12,515 and first deliveries due later this year.
