Tesla Model 3 public debut date confirmed

The Tesla Model 3 will make its much anticipated public debut on March 31st at an event in Los Angeles.

This is the third model from the electric car specialists Tesla, following the launch of the Model S saloon and the already-revealed Model X crossover. The latter will arrive to dealerships later this year.

Tesla Model 3 details and rumours

Tesla will begin accepting orders within its local US market when the Model 3 is presented at the end of this month. The Model 3 aims to attract a larger customer base than the more premium Model S and Model X cars.

The Model 3 is an executive saloon, smaller in size than the Model S, and it will serve as a fully-electric alternative to the likes of the BMW 3 Series, Mercedes C-Class, Audi A4 and Jaguar XE.

According to reports, the Tesla Model 3 will ultimately have styling similar to the Model S and it will boast a travel range of 200 miles on a full charge.

Other details are being kept under wraps until the Tesla Model 3 finally makes its public debut. Reportedly those who that have been invited to the reveal will go to an event area near Los Angeles International Airport during the evening (local time).

While pricing remains unconfirmed, numerous online reports have indicated the Model 3 will start for $35,000 in America, which means it could start from just under £25,000 when the car comes to Britain.
