The best features on the 2019 Citroen C5 Aircross

The all-new C5 Aircross has some interesting features - we picked out our favourites.

Funky French crossover the Citroen C5 Aircross is another addition to a crowded but popular segment, so it needs to stand out.

Luckily, it has a few tricks up its sleeve in order to compete with rivals and attract attention from buyers.

Here are five features we really like on the new C5 Aircross

Comfort

Citroen claim the C5 Aircross to be ‘the most comfortable model in its segment.’ And with what this Aircross is offering, it would be hard to argue with that. It combines Citroen’s Progressive Hydraulic Cushions and Advanced Comfort Seats to make the Citroen Advanced Comfort programme. As you can probably tell, comfort was a big focus for the firm and achieving it better than competitors was a priority when making the car.

Technology

In 2018, cars have to have the latest tech in order to appeal to customers. Fortunately, technology is not something the C5 Aircross lacks – both in quality and quantity. It has a digital instrument cluster and eight-inch touchscreen, plus 20 driver assistance features. These include Highway Driver Assist and a level-two autonomous driving system among others.

Handy connectivity features, such as wireless smartphone charging, are also on offer with a new ultra-connected model.

Performance

The C5 Aircross is available with petrol and diesel engines, with a plug-in hybrid option coming in late 2019. Power output ranges from 130bhp to 180bhp, providing efficiency and performance – two very desirable things these days. Powertrains are mated to a brand new EAT8 automatic gearbox. When the PHEV version comes out, it will be the first in Citroen’s history.

Space

Best-in-class boot space, three individual sliding, folding, and reclining rear seats, practicality derived from Citroen’s experience in the world of MPVs – these are just some of the things the C5 Aircross possesses to make life easier when it comes to space. To be more specific on the boot space front, there is between 580-litres and 720-litres of room (depending on the second row seat position). Space is a simple, yet important area where the C5 Aircross trumps its rivals.

Design

The C5 Aircross takes design cues and inspiration from its smaller sibling – the C3 Aircross. It’s highly customisable, with 30 colour combinations available. Also featured on this new model is Citroen’s now signature Airbump panels on the lower part of the front doors, and on the roof bars. In addition, five interior ambiances are on offer with matching colours and materials. All of this means customers can create their perfect personalised vehicle and stand out from the crowd.
