Following on from the reveal of the hatchback version earlier this year, Toyota has unveiled the Corolla Touring Sports which debuts a new hybrid electric powertrain.
Replacing the Auris range, the Corolla makes a return to the UK car market from 2019 after being dropped for the Auris back in 2007.
Designed and created for Europe, the new Corolla Touring Sports comes with a new 2.0-litre petrol hybrid powertrain that produces 178bhp. It joins a 1.8-litre 120bhp petrol hybrid and the only conventional engine on offer, a 1.2-litre turbo petrol engine making 114bhp.
The model also comes with new multilink rear suspension as well as shock absorber valve technology and, for the first time on a Corolla, adaptive variable suspension is on offer.
Toyota has also revealed that the Corolla Touring Sports will be available with a world-first 3D driver’s meter, a head-up display, a JBL sound system, wireless mobile phone charging and Toyota’s Touch multimedia setup.

The Corolla Touring Sports will make its public debut at the Paris Motor Show on October 2 and it will appear alongside the hatchback version. Both models will go on sale in Europe next year.
