Toyota reveals the new 2018 Land Cruiser

The latest in the series of legendary off-roaders has been revealed, after 60 years in production

Take a look at the 2018 Toyota Land Cruiser

Toyota has taken the covers off its latest iteration of its world-renowned Land Cruiser model.

The go-anywhere 4x4 has received a large exterior update, while the interior has been made more comfortable to make it a better day-to-day car.

However, its capabilities off-road have not been hindered in anyway meaning it will be as good off-road as it always has been.

Only one engine is available with the latest model, a 175bhp, 2.8-litre turbocharged diesel engine that may not offer the best acceleration statistics – 0-60mph takes 12.5 seconds – but produces 450Nm of torque, so it has plenty of pulling power. It can be paired with either a six-speed manual or six-speed automatic gearbox.

The length of the model has increased by 60mm to allow for more interior space, which includes a freshly designed central console, including an eight-inch touchscreen infotainment system. Metal detailing has also been added for a more premium feel.

The exterior design has had an overhaul with a new front bumper, bonnet, grille and flanks, while customers get a choice of 17-inch, 18-inch and 19-inch alloy wheels. New LED lights have also been added, while the body will be available in 10 different colours.

The Land Cruiser also has the option of the latest Toyota Safety Package, which includes the Pre-Collision System, Adaptive Cruise Control and Lane Departure Alert.

UK pricing for the new Land Cruiser is yet to be announced, but it is due to come to the market at the start of 2018.
