UK pricing and specs for the Tesla Model X SUV confirmed

Tesla has confirmed UK pricing and specifications for its new all-electric Model X SUV ahead of its launch in Britain later this year.

The entry-level 75D model will be priced from £71,900, while the mid-range 90D starts from £82,400 and the range-topping P90D, complete with the same Ludicrous Mode as the Model S, starts from £99,800.

As standard, the Model X comes as a five seater but buyers can choose to upgrade it to carry six seats for an additional £2,550 or for £3,400 can specify it as a full seven-seater SUV.

Three trims from launch

Equipment and features include Tesla’s signature 17-inch touchscreen infotainment system, along with the iconic ‘Falcon Wing’ doors which open vertically for ease of access in tight parking spaces.

Model X customers can also upgrade their car with a Premium Upgrades Package, which adds extra leather upholstery, interior LED lights and an advanced air filter for £3,900.

Power comes courtesy of twin electric motors mounted on either axle, with the front motor producing 259bhp and the motor which drivers the rear wheels producing a total of 503bhp.

Deliveries to start later this year

Specified with the Ludicrous Speed option, the Model X P90D can sprint from 0-62mph in just 3.2 seconds, while even the standard 75D model can cover the benchmark time in a rapid six seconds.

Top speed clocks in at 130mph for the 75D and 155mph for the other models, and Tesla claims that the Model X can cover up to 303 miles on a single charge of its battery packs.

Production of the Model X is currently underway at Tesla’s US factory after significant delays due to the sheer amount of technology in the vehicle, but Tesla says it’ll be ready by the tail end of 2016.
