Ultra-limited McLaren 570GT Black Edition revealed

British supercar manufacturer reveals special-edition version of its most practical machine, limited to just 100 units.

McLaren has revealed an exceptionally limited version of the most practical supercar it offers.

The 570GT Black Edition is the latest creation from the firm’s special operations division, MSO, and features a ton of — you guessed it — black additions.

One the outside, this limited-run car features a bespoke Carbon Black finish, along with black details such as the front and rear splitters, side skirts and air intakes. The theme is topped-off by twin-spoke lightweight forged wheels, finished in Gloss Black Diamond.

It doesn’t stop there, though. The cabin features black upholstery, made of a combination of leather and Alcantara. There’s also a panoramic glass roof as standard, which can be upgraded with the firm’s electrochromic panoramic roof for £4750. This allows the driver to select different tints for the roof while on the move.

Rob Melville, design director at McLaren Automotive, said:

"McLaren Special Operations allows our customers to fully express themselves through their cars, and the new 570GT MSO Black Collection is no different.

"Black is a colour associated with elegance, power and authority whilst also surrounded by a certain air of mystery. The end result remains true to the luxurious nature of the 570GT but we managed to further amplify its sleek, sporty character with a wealth of new MSO Defined options which I am sure will delight discerning owners."

Performance remains identical to the standard 570GT, with its twin-turbo V8 pumping out 562bhp and 600Nm of torque. The Black Edition is also fitted with the GT’s Sport Pack, giving it sharper handling. There’s also a titanium ‘SuperSports’ exhaust system that reduces the car’s weight by 5kg while adding a ton of noise.

The McLaren 570GT Black Edition is now available for order, with prices starting at £179,950. Act fast though, as just 100 will be made.
