Updated 2020 Alfa Romeo Giulia and Stelvio Quadrifolgio revealed

The new models boast light design tweaks and additional safety kit

Alfa Romeo has unveiled updated versions of its hot Giulia Quadrifoglio saloon and Stelvio Quadrifoglio SUV.

Following on from the unveil of the model year 2020 versions of the regular and Stelvio last year, the covers have been pulled off the hot Quadrifoglio versions of both those cars.

The superb 2.9-litre bi-turbo V6 engine remains the same as before – pushing out 503bhp and 600Nm of torque. While performance hasn’t been tweaked, customers can now specify a more raucous Akrapovic exhaust, which features titanium and carbon fibre tailpipes.

Styling tweaks are discreet and hard to spot, but include new LED rear lights with dark lenses, while a host of new gloss black styling elements feature as well. Specialist accessories from Alfa Romeo’s ‘Mopar’ division are also available on the Quadrifoglio for the first time, too – including a new carbon fibre front grille. New 21-inch alloy wheels are also offered on the Stelvio for the first time.

Perhaps most noticeable, though, are a number of new colours and liveries. New options include ‘6C Villa d’Este Red, GT Junior Ocra and Montreal Green, pictured.

Jump inside and the changes include a new steering wheel and the option to have the seatbelts in red or green – rather than the current black. Perforated Alcantara and leather sports seats are standard, with carbon-backed seats available as an option. Just like the regular Giulia and Stelvio models, Alfa Romeo has updated its 8.8-inch touchscreen with a new interface and fresh connectivity features.

Safety has also been improved thanks to new level 2 semi-autonomous driving features. These include traffic sign recognition, adaptive cruise control, lane keep assist and a special feature that keep the car in the middle of the lane in heavy traffic or in motorways.

The updated Giulia and Stelvio Quadrifoglio will go on sale in the summer, with prices and full specifications to be announced later in the year. Expect a slight increase, though, over the Giulia Quadrifoglio’s current starting price of £65,555 and the Stelvio’s £71,880 list price.
