To increase the options to customers for the T-Roc, Volkswagen has added an extra diesel engine to the compact crossover’s line-up.
The 1.6-litre TDI unit is available across all five trim options and is paired to a six-speed manual transmission and front wheel drive.
It comes in as the joint-least powerful option in the T-Roc’s engine offering, with the 113bhp diesel unit sitting alongside the 1.0-litre petrol with the same output. The 1.6-litre TDI also produces 250Nm of torque.
Having been tested under the WLTP and NEDC emission regulations, the diesel returns 115g/km CO2. No fuel economy or performance figures have been released yet.
Other engine options available to the T-Roc include a 1.5-litre EVO petrol that employs cylinder shut-down technology to save fuel, a 187bhp 2.0-litre petrol with four-wheel drive and a seven-speed automatic, and a 2.0-litre TDI diesel that produces 148bhp and is paired to four-wheel drive.
As standard, T-Roc models come with a touchscreen infotainment system with an eight-inch screen at least, DAB radio, front assist emergency braking, LED daytime running lights and two-zone climate control.
Prices for the 1.6-litre TDI 113bhp models start from £21,290 for the T-Roc S, with the top-spec R-Line version starting from £27,010.
