Volvo offers Polestar upgrade to enhance performance

The software update applies to every all-wheel drive model and will equate to “more dynamic driving”.

Volvo has announced that owners of all-wheel drive versions of 90 Series, 60 Series and XC40 models can get a Polestar performance software upgrade.

The enhancement increases the percentage of torque sent to the rear wheels, which Volvo says will lead to “more dynamic driving”.

Polestar – Volvo’s electric performance sub-brand – developed the software upgrade and the advancement raises the amount of torque directed to the rear wheels, which it says will improve turn-in, control and feel while cornering, as well as give superior traction.

This is the latest software upgrade provided by Polestar for Volvo vehicles, which include “sharper throttle response, faster off-throttle response, quicker gear changes, optimised gear shift points and in-corner gear holding, as well as increased engine output.”

When installed, all the driver needs to do is select the Dynamic driving mode or disengage the Electronic Stability Control to access the performance optimisation.
