Which Fiat is right for you?

Which Fiat is right for you?

Looking at one of this Italian firm’s models, but can’t decide which? Here we help you decide

Fiat has a great range of affordable models available – including everything from small city cars to MPVs.

While the Italian brand’s line-up is dominated by the chic ‘500’ line-up, Fiat has plenty more to offer – including the popular Panda and Tipo as well.

So, if you’re looking at a new Fiat, here’s what you can look at.

500 – from £12,770

Starting with what’s undoubtedly the best-known Fiat – the 500. This city car continues to remain exceptionally popular in the UK, and is a fantastic stylish city car. It’s easy to drive and affordable as well, while plenty of trim levels and personalisation options add to the appeal. The introduction of an efficient new Hybrid powertrain also helps to reduce both fuel consumption and CO2 emissions.

500C – from £15,420

While a fixed glass roof is available on the regular Fiat 500, there’s nothing quite like a drop-top. And if you’ve always fancied a convertible version of this model – Fiat delivers with the 500C. Retaining all the appeal of the regular model with an electrically retracting canvas roof, which you’ll love whenever the sun comes out. While it’s noticeably pricier than the standard 500, it remains one of the most affordable new convertibles.

500L – from £18,895

If you love the styling of the Fiat 500, but find its small size just unsuitable for your needs, Fiat offers you an MPV version of the model. While it’s unsurprisingly not as cool as the regular 500, it still retains that car’s cool styling, and is one of the most appealing MPVs out there. With plenty of rear space and a generous boot, it’s a good alternative to a conventional hatchback.

500X – from £17,730

Last but not least is the 500X – a crossover version of the 500. With the demand for models in this sector continuing to grow, it’s not surprising that this baby SUV is now one of the firm’s most popular models. It’s one of the best handling cars in its class, and one of the most stylish, too. Several variants are on offer including ‘Urban’, a more rugged ‘Cross’ offering and the top-spec ‘Sport’ model.

Panda – from £10,340

While not especially popular in the UK, in Fiat’s homeland of Italy, the Panda is the best-selling model there. Despite being a similar size to the 500, the Panda is the more sensible choice with its increased spaciousness and cheaper price. That said, it remains very likeable with its cool styling, while the option to have a 4x4 version with seriously impressive off-roading ability adds to the appeal.

Tipo – from £15,550

If you’re looking for a Ford Focus-sized model, but are looking for something more affordable – you should consider the Tipo. High-spec versions look the part, while its pricing is closer to that of smaller superminis than family hatchbacks in its own class.

Tipo Station Wagon – from £16,550

The only estate variant in Fiat’s line-up is the Tipo Station Wagon – a model that remains exceptional value for money, and is one of the least expensive new estate cars on the market. A large 550-litre boot makes it a spacious choice in this class.

Qubo – from £13,727

The oddball in Fiat’s range, the Qubo is the model to go for if you value practicality above all else. It’s based on a van, and despite its relatively compact size, it really is vast. Sliding rear doors aid access while the whole cabin is geared around being as useful and spacious as possible. With prices starting from £13,740, it’s also remarkably cheap.
