Check out the Toyota Yaris facelift for 2017

Toyota has officially revealed its facelifted Toyota Yaris for 2017, which features new looks, a new engine and better onboard gadgets.

As revealed last month, the facelifted Yaris gets a new naturally-aspirated 1.5-litre petrol engine which replaces the 1.3-litre petrol unit currently used by the supermini. The new petrol engine is more powerful with 110bhp on tap and it’s up to 12 per cent more efficient.

A hybrid specification is once again available for the facelifted Yaris and this version emits just 75g/km of CO2. The hybrid accounts for 40 per cent of Yaris sales in Europe, and the facelifted version features upgrades for the engine and other internal components to make the car more refined and offer better steering.

The interior of the facelifted Yaris comes with new instrument dials, plus a 4.2-inch colour TFT display which is standard from the Mid trim upwards. The Mid trim sits just above the appropriately-named Entry trim and is below Mid+, Bi-Tone and the range-topping Chic trim.

Mid trim, expected to remain the Yaris’s best-seller, comes with chrome detailing for the headlights, as well as more premium upholstery and a leather-trimmed steering wheel. Even standard trim versions of the facelifted Yaris come with various safety gadgets including automatic emergency braking, automatic high beam control and lane departure warning.

Expect pricing for the facelifted Toyota Yaris to start from approximately £12,000 when the supermini launches in Britain later this year.

A hot hatch version of the Yaris is also on its way, although this is expected to be based on the pre-facelift Yaris. More details on the 2017 Yaris range will be revealed during the 2017 Geneva Motor Show this March.
